Information Collection and Use
Authentium is the sole owner of the information collected on this site. We will not sell, share, or rent this information to others in ways different from what is disclosed in this statement. Authentium collects information from its customers during the sign-up Process. The information collected during sign-up is used only for the stated purpose (i.e. customer service, provision of selected services, email response, newsletter or affiliate signup, or request for information) and is not shared with any third party, unless otherwise stated (in some instances, you may request that your cable or phone company be provided information to help solve a technical or billing issue). Usage data is never shared with third parties, except in aggregate form to determine your eligibility for certain services offered by third parties.
Registration
In order to utilize the Authentium services, including the Identity Fraud Protection insurance services, a user must first complete a registration form. During registration a user is required to provide information (such as name, address, and email address). This information is used to create a valid consumer profile, and must be accurate in order to enable correct and speedy processing of claims.
Sign-up
We request information from consumers during your initial sign-up and during sign-up for new services and/ore features, and at no other time. During sign-up we may request that you provide contact information (like name and shipping address) and financial information (like credit card number, expiration date). Your information will be used for billing purposes and to deliver services, but WILL NOT be provided to anyone other than the provider of these services. If we have trouble processing your sign-up order, this contact information will be used to get in touch with you.
Use of Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the users hard drive containing information about the user. Authentium does not use third-party cookies on its site.
Sharing of Aggregate Information
Authentium DOES aggregate information from our own site and partner sites regarding the number of consumers who navigate to our partner sites and sign up for their services - this is necessary for us to be paid commissions on these sales. This information is used solely to determine aggregate commissions and is not linked to any personal information that can identify any individual person. We use a credit card processing company to bill users for goods and services. These companies may retain, share, store or use personally identifiable information for any secondary purposes, as per industry standards.
We partner with another party to provide specific transaction services. When the user signs up for these services, we will securely share only that information that is necessary for the third party to provide these services, on the basis that the information is not shared with any third party. All of these partner parties are not allowed to use personally identifiable information except for the purpose of providing these services.
Links
This web site contains links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of such other sites. We encourage our users to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy statements of each and every web site that collects personally identifiable information. This privacy statement applies solely to information collected by Authentium.
Security
Authentium takes every precaution to protect our users information. When consumers submit sensitive information via the website, their information is protected, both online and off-line. When our registration/order form asks users to enter sensitive information (such as credit card number and/or social security number), that information is encrypted and is protected with an encryption standard typically used to secure internet transactions.
Authentium employees are kept up-to-date on our security and privacy practices. Every quarter, as well as at any time new policies are added, employees are notified and/or reminded about the importance we place on privacy, and what they can do to ensure our customers information is protected. The servers that we store personally identifiable information on are kept in a secure data center environment.
If you have any questions about the security of our website, or that of our partners, we ask you to please send us an email at [email protected].
Supplementation of Information
In order for this website to properly fulfill its obligation to our customers, it is necessary for us to validate and supplement the information we receive with information from 3rd party sources. For example, to determine if your proposed use of a credit card is valid, we may use your name and address to request a credit validation.
Special Offers
At this time we offer information services such as newsletters. We offer the option to OPT OUT and not receive these types of communications to all users of these services.
Site and Service Updates
We also send the user site and service announcement updates. Though these announcements may contain important information about the service, you may deactivate your account at any time. For service support reasons we may communicate with you in order to provide the requested services and in regards to issues relating to their account via email or phone.
Correcting/Updating Personal Information
All personal data that is collected (with the exception of non-identifiable aggregate usage data) in connection with Quotes, Sales Affiliate Activity or other accounts can be viewed and modified by you at any time (you will need to be connected to the Internet). If your profile information changes (such as your zip code), or if you no longer desire our service, you may correct, update or remove your data profile online using the Account Management facilities, or by emailing our Customer Support.
Choice/Opt-out
Authentium users are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties, such as ID Fraud insurance underwriters or credit card order processing companies. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether they should proceed with services that require an outside party, or not.
Notification of Changes
If we decide to change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on this page so our users are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it.
If at any point we decide to use personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time it was collected, we will notify users by way of an email. Users will have a choice as to whether or not we use their information in this different manner. However, if users have opted out of all communication with the site, or deleted/deactivated their account, then they will not be contacted, nor will their personal information be used in this new manner. We will use information in accordance with the privacy policy under which the information was collected.
